...before I put on my make-up, I say a little prayer for you'
One of my favorite songs and here is my favorite cover of it. I invite you to watch this either before or after you read this post. It's beautiful.
This post is about the moment I (or you) wake up; it is not about the person/people I pray for. I'll get to that in another post. Here, I want to focus on morning routines that I have been doing my utmost to keep up with, and I strongly recommend you apply this best practice to your life, too! I don't mean copying what I'm doing, but creating a routine in the morning that will set you up for success for the day, too! Why? Well, once you've set yourself up with a routine, you will find that you will have achieved so much first thing in the morning and be able to achieve your top 3 goals.

Here's my morning routine broken down into steps:
4:30 am: Wake up (I typically wake up between 4-5 am after having at least 7 hours of sleep, which means going to bed early!)
4:31 am: Make the bed, then get changed into gym gear.
4:35 am: Warm up before my workout.
4:45 am: Begin my workout at home or head to the gym if needed.
~ 5:30 am: Shower.
~ 5:45 am: Brush my teeth, get dressed (I would have had my clothes picked out the night before), prepare my bags, and take my lunch out of the fridge.
~ 6:30 am: Make a high-protein breakfast.
~ 6:45 am: Eat breakfast, then read, pray, meditate, and write my goals for the day.
~ 7:30 am: Leave for the office.
So, as you can see, there's a lot that I put into my morning routine, and as a morning person, this is probably my favorite part of the day. Why? It truly is my time; I like getting up that early because it's where distractions can't get me, and I can fill my cup up so I can be my best at work or with whoever I'm meeting.
Where did I learn this from? From a fitness coach/program, I used to be on/work with. I'll tell you more about that in another post and will go into why I stopped. But if there is anything that I took away from them, it wasn't just how to measure my macronutrients, what food is better for me, or what workouts to do; they covered how important a routine is and the benefits it has for you and your mental health.
Do yourself a favor, and get that routine in place. You'll thank yourself later. Establishing a morning routine can truly transform your day and set you up for success in all areas of your life.
