Discovering the purpose of your life and understanding your "why" is an ongoing personal journey.
I recently watched an interview between Oprah Winfrey and Arther Brooks
on YouTube discussing their new book 'The Art and Science of Getting Happier: Build the Life You Want' ( I just ordered mine from Amazon and I'm excited for its arrival) One of the many topics they cover is finding the meaning of your life. I have only recently allowed myself to think deeply about this topic because, before that, I just wanted a simple, drama-free life, out of the spotlight and I knew that whatever I did for a living, I would do it well because I have a strong work ethic (Thanks Mama and Papa!) and always enjoy learning new skills. Now, I still want a simple drama-free life (who doesn't) but now I want more, and I don't mean materialistically, I want my life to have meaning. I want to make a positive impact on people's lives, I want to inspire and encourage those to believe in themselves and the power of their voice. Why is that important to me? For a very long time, I didn't believe in myself and chose to lower the volume of my thoughts and opinions in fear of not being accepted by others and it's a hard mindset to shift. I'm praying I can be of service and help others get through and over their hurdles/internal demons through my podcast.

So how do you figure out the meaning/purpose of your life? Watch part of the Oprah & Arthur Brooks interview that can offer some guidance. I've added some suggestions below to also help you in this process;
Self-reflection:
Take some time to ponder over your values, interests, and passions.
Analyze both negative experiences, from your past to identify any recurring patterns or common themes.
Exploring your interests:
Engage in activities that genuinely captivate you. Which activities make time fly by? What fills you with joy?
Embrace experiences. Be receptive to uncovering new passions.
Recognizing your strengths:
Acknowledge your strengths, talents, and skills. Consider how certain activities allow you to utilize these strengths.
Recall moments when you felt most confident and accomplished.
Set goals:
Establish both short-term and long-term goals for yourself. What achievements would bring a sense of fulfillment?
Break down these goals into manageable steps.
Consider the impact:
Contemplate the kind of impact you aspire to have on the world or those, around you.
Ponder how your skills and passions can contribute towards making a difference.
Seeking inspiration:
Dive into books, podcasts, or documentaries that uncover stories of individuals who have discovered their purpose.
Connect with people who inspire you and learn from their experiences.
Make connections:
Build connections, by engaging in conversations with friends, family, and mentors. They might provide insights and different perspectives that you haven't considered before.
Networking and nurturing relationships can open doors to possibilities. Broaden your understanding of the world.
Accept challenges:
Embrace challenges as stones towards discovering your purpose knowing that setbacks are a part of the journey.
View challenges as opportunities for growth. Learning valuable lessons along the way.
Mindful and meditation:
Practice mindfulness to stay grounded in the moment and connect with your thoughts and emotions.
Engage in meditation to gain clarity focus on what truly matters to you and find peace within yourself.
Keep evolving:
Your life's purpose will likely evolve. Be open to reassessing and adjusting your goals as you grow and change.
Regularly check in with yourself and make adjustments as needed.
Remember that finding your life's purpose is a dynamic process, and it's okay if it takes time. Be patient with yourself, stay curious, and embrace the journey of self-discovery.
